Directional Drilling

 The Practicality of Directional Drilling

When utilizing directional drilling, also known as “Boring”, utility lines can be places with minimal disruption of surface-level structures, existing subsurface facilities, as well as naturally existing obstacles such as rivers and lakes. Bartek Construction has multiple boring crews that can accommodate a variety of pipe sizes as well as various soil conditions.

The City of San Antonio has developed “Street-Cut Policies” which have made directional drilling much more practical and economical.

The Benefit of Directional Boring vs. Traditional Method

Traditional methods of utility connection and installation typically involve open cut or trenching, however with these methods there are certain limitations. Only when there are no obstacles in the way (building, roadways, etc.) can the installation be completed traditionally.

Directional boring can operate traditionally but also has the capability to achieve the limitations other methods cannot. To avoid obstacles, directional drilling is the best technique to use. Here at Bartek Construction, we can provide the services needed with the proper equipment and experience to get the job done in a timely fashion.
